HealthCare Jobs and Employment

I had always thought that health care jobs were something you either aspire to or stay away from entirely. I didn't really realize that you can fall into a job in health care. Nonetheless, this is exactly what happened to me. Although I have never been against health care jobs, nor have I ever been scared of hospitals or doctors, I have never been drawn to them either. Some people dream of having a health care job. They want to make it their life's work to make sick people better. They want to help people. Others are drawn to the big salaries that doctors make. I was drawn to neither of these. I was simply unemployed and drawn to health care job fair.

I had never thought about the tremendous variety of health care jobs that there were. Abstractly, I knew that health administration must be a major task. With all of the doctors, insurance companies, patients, medical supply companies, and pharmacies, there must be thousands upon thousands of people keeping track of all of the information going back and forth.

I never had contemplated a health care administration job. Nonetheless, I have had some experience in personnel, and this made me look like an ideal candidate for a health management position. I had gone to the fair looking at health care jobs because I was curious, and ended up with a prestigious, highly paid position. Although it took me a little while to get the hang of the health care jobs, eventually I was really enjoying what I was doing.

The interesting thing about jobs in health care is how little the people who work them do to take care of themselves. Once I started up with the health care jobs, I was amazed. Obesity ran rampant in the office, in spite of the fact that all of us worked health care jobs. No one exercised, and most people spent their recreational time either drinking or watching TV. It just goes to show you that you don't always practice what you preach.

My healthcare job is definitely not a dream come true, but it is something that I enjoy doing. I don't know if my future is in health care jobs. Part of me wants to quit and find my real passion. However, for the time being, I am pretty happy where I am. The people are friendly, and the pay is great.
